The Veterans Memorial Building is owned by the CCSD and available for community events. It is available for private events. The CCSD manages the facility and coordinates all event reservations.

 

Before the Veterans Memorial Building was moved to Cambria, it was used as a movie theatre at Camp San Luis Obispo. Over the years, hundreds of events have been held at the facility, including art shows, exercise classes, health clinics, and government meetings.

 

Currently, Farmers Market is held in the Veterans Building parking lot each Friday afternoon. The building and grounds are also used during the Lions Club Annual Pinedorado Days celebration and the Chamber of Commerce Chili Cook Off and Car Show. The CCSD also holds its monthly Board meetings at the Veterans Memorial Building.

 

Handicap parking is available in the front of the building and within the parking lot to the left of the building. Two special Veterans parking spaces are located at the Veterans Hall. One is located in the front of the Veterans Hall, and the other is on the side of the American Legion 432 Club.

 

Reservations

To rent any of the rooms or the parking lot at the Veterans Memorial Building, please call the CCSD Administration Department at 805-927-6223. For rental fee information, click on the District's User Fee Schedule. Reserving well in advance of your event is recommended to ensure an opening.  Requirements to rent any of the Veterans Memorial Building rooms or the parking lot include:

  • Approval of event type by CCSD
  • A security deposit
  • Payment of rental fees
  • Liability insurance which covers the CCSD
  • Completion of rental agreement at the CCSD Administration Office
  • Compliance with Cambria CSD Fire Department regulations

 

Building Layout

The building contains a kitchen and two separate meeting rooms of various sizes. Any of the rooms and parking lot can be rented in various combinations to meet the needs of a particular event. An American Legion clubhouse is attached at the back of the facility and is not available for rent.

 

The Main Hall is the largest room and can hold up to 250 people if no tables are used. With tables, it will accommodate a maximum of 150 people. It has a stage at one end and a snack bar at the rear of the room.

 

The Dining Room includes a deck and holds 49 people with or without tables. A barbecue located in the parking lot can also be rented. The Kitchen is available with a stove and refrigerator. It is not equipped with any supplies or utensils.
