Why is the CCSD implementing a new Utility Billing Customer Portal?

On November 16, 2023, the CCSD Board of Directors discussed, considered, and approved providing electronic payment services and a utility access portal through Tyler Technologies. This included charging a flat 3.70% fee to customers who wish to make credit or debit card payments with no maximum transaction amount.

Tyler Technologies is our current financial software, and they offer the ability to accept electronic payments in person and online through the website, phone, mobile app, and a text-to-pay option. They also provided us with a utility access portal, which allows the customer to pay bills from any device, access real-time account balances and consumption data, view payment histories, statement due dates, and deposits, request service or update account information, and a terminal to accept electronic payments in the office.

Prior to the Utility Billing Customer Portal, electronic payments could not be accepted in the administration office, and customers did not have access to a portal.

No. Residents already enrolled in our Autopay Program (Direct Debit) via their bank account, do not need to re-enroll on this site. They will still have all the other great benefits by creating a utility billing customer portal. The customer portal autopay enrollment feature is another option available for credit/debit cards only. Signing up for autopay through this site will include a convenience fee of 3.70% for every transaction.

The existing autopay program (Direct Debit) does not charge a fee. The Direct Debit program only offers bank draft from a checking or savings account. Residents can find the “Direct Debit” form our website and submit requests to frontdesk@cambriacsd.org.
